KAMARLEE SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS


KAMARLEE is an affix granted by the English Kennel Club to our Shetland Sheepdog kennel. All owners who have shetland sheepdogs registered with the English Kennel Club can apply for an affix. It could be compared to a Trade Name that some Business Companies have such as "Pedigree Chum". There is an annual charge made by the K.C. to maintain this affix except in cases such as myself where I was able to negotiate a one off payment and so have this affix for life. The K.C. no longer accept "one off" payments.

I first started in shetland sheepdogs in 1969 with a puppy which was bought from a commercial kennel, her name was Tinto Prancer and she came originally from Scotland. I realised when she was about four months old that she was not a very good specimen at all. She was too large, her ears remained pricked despite all efforts to get them over. She was just a pet. Apart from this she had a fantastic temperament and lived until she was 13 years old. This bitch was a good example of "Not to buy from a Commercial Breeder".
